From: bof on 21 Nov 2005 07:12 I've got an E-MU 0404 card installed in a PC and want to record audio from the optical S/PDIF input to a file on disc. I have the PatchMix DSP software running and can see the DAT source moving the meters on the desk and can listen to the mixing desk via the 0404 card's analogue outputs. All this seems to work OK. Can anyone advise how I record the desk output to a file on the harddrive? I've looked at the various sample/LE software supplied with the card but can't see a way of doing this. Is there a way of recording the optical S/PDIF inputs of the 0404 card direct to disc, with no processing at all? I'm new to PC based recording so may well be missing the bleedin' obvious. You need to tell your recording program to use that device. Look for a "Settings" or "Preference" selection on a menu or tab and find E-Mu S/PDIF as the source.

I've tried Audacity, which just has an option to select "E-DSP WAVE (ECCO)" then, sub option of mono, stereo and ch 3 to 16 and also "Wavelab Lite" which also has the option "E-DSP WAVE (ECCO)" and sub options of buffers 3 to 16. I can't see anything that refers to E-Mu or SPDIF as sources. -- bof at bof dot me dot uk
