From: Stephen Foster on 21 May 2006 14:37 My search for two floor monitors continues. I had a very cool chance to hear some EAW monitors in a church install the other day. First time I've heard monitors that I really liked. Two different pairs in particular. One pair was the SM200ih the other pair LA212. They were powered by QSC PLX amps. The matching monitors for my Meyers UPA1P/USW1P setup would run 4 grand each with a 25% discount and that just doesn't really excite me enough to do it.. The 200s sounded really good, but for a grand less the pair of 212s sounded good too. I'm hoping some of the folks here might offer some personal experience with either of these monitors (or other models within the EAW line). Thank You, Steve

Their popularity confounds me to no end. I've not much heard the various EAW 2 series, but they would seem to be usefull boxes. Bases on innumerable anecdotes, I'd say that if they are in your budget, you should check out the Rat/Radial MicroWedges. But do remember that in the future you are sure to need more wedges, so make sure that these same wedges will be in the budge then as well as now.
