Open Act! and import data then select tab delimited you will be given the option of directing the information in your file to the appropriate fields in ACT! If your spread sheat heading match Act this is nearly automatic "EXCEL AND ACT!" wrote: > HOW DO I MERGE EXCEL AND ACT FILES? I WANT TO MERGE AN EXCEL FILE INTO MY > ACT! PROGRAM
From: Chip Pearson on 21 Sep 2005 13:49 Excel has no support for Act files. You need to export your data from Act in to a format that Excel can recognize, such as xls, csv, txt, sylk, or something. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "EXCEL AND ACT!" <EXCEL AND ACT!@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5A341DAA-EFC2-4C89-991F-3F7BEA97F9AB(a)microsoft.com... > HOW DO I MERGE EXCEL AND ACT FILES? From: TomHinkle on 21 Sep 2005 13:49 ACT! should be able to read an excel file directly, provided you have the data organized in a table. If not you need to export data to a standard format.. I like CSV personally, but text, csv, tab delimited should all work. Any way you slice it, you WILL have to go through a mapping exercise in ACT! to tell it what fields in ACT! map to columns in Excel. "EXCEL AND ACT!" wrote: > HOW DO I MERGE EXCEL AND ACT FILES?
