hi there i have made a movie in director and want to convert this to a movie
file so that i can put it into a separate director movie and add movie controls
etc...i tried exporting the movie as a quicktime movie and an avi file however
when i try to open them again i get the message 'error 2048: the file is not a
movie file.' any suggestions please would be greatly appreciated...thank you

Not sure what's up with the video output, you can import other videos?

One can import an external director file as a limked director movie
member, playback countrol could be worke out using lingo, the tell
message works with movie sprites much like with MIAWs.

Maybe you have a beta version of QT on your computer. Can you open the
files in QT?

Try making a really short test movie and exporting it. If that doesn't work,
you have some system issue. You might try un-installing QT then
re-installing with the latest version.
