From: Max Arwood on 22 Aug 2008 11:21 Yea I know. BFD2 has this same "arranger" feature. I like the BFD2 one better than the EZPlayer Pro version. Personally I think they both wasted programming time with this feature. I know I wold much rather use Sonar to do midi editing and looping. The only thing that was kinda kool was the multiple time signatures looping like it does. Would I ever need this? Nope, not really. Now polymod would definitely need it! I drag either grooves or kit pieces down in the tracks area and leave them there. I then drag grooves into SONAR from the Tracks area. I save the EZplayer Pro state as a preset in SONAR and when I come back to it, all my midi grooves in a project are there in a collection so I don't have to go hunting for them again. You can also set up the grooves in different tracks and then set up the track to begin play on a midi note event. You will be able to "play" the tracks that way. It gives you the same basic feature found in Session Drummer 2 where you can play the grooves with your midi keyboard. If you set up a midi track in SONAR and enable it for recording you can record your noodling with the EZplayer tracks and see if you come up with anything interesting or useable from your performance. Some people may find it useless and others may find it handy. Me, I never use the EZdrummer groove browser anymore because I can DnD grooves to and from the EZP groove librarian easily. I find being able to drag individual kit pieces very handy. Dave "Mod Bod" Modisette. |
