Hi,

The combination of my Vdrum kit triggering drum VSTs (BFD, Addictive
Drums) is crashing SONAR, usually when I'm about 75% finished
recording the track. This only happens with the ekit and VST
combination. LOCAL is turned off in my ekit, so there shouldn't be
that much MIDI data coming in to overwhelm SONAR, I shouldn't think.
The message says "fatal exception occurred" and that SONAR needs to
close. I can send screenshots to anyone wiling to offer insight or
advice.

Thanks very much.

If you've got SONAR's multiprocessor mode turned on, try turning it off and
see if that makes a difference. I had a lot of crashes when tracking
KONTAKT 2-based softsynths when using MP mode, but turning it off totally
eliminated them. I don't know if the bug is NI-specific or SONAR's, or both
for that matter, but the workaround definitely makes a big difference. Of
course, the VSTs you're talking about aren't NI-based, but the symptoms are
very similar, so maybe there is a similar underlying problem.

Thanks very much Rick - could you direct me to the MP engine? I'm new
to SONAR 7SE and it doesn't show up in the help topics. BTW, CW tech
support suggested I increase the MIDI buffer size to 256, but I can't
get it to go any higher than 128! This is a real head-scratcher.

Thanks again for the response.

Cheers.

Steve
