You have PROVEN ZILCH. When I was recently wiring in the local venue's A&H I discovered some very odd wiring. The clot installing previous wiring that was added when the former Midas Venice went in had wired all the new cables with the screen to PIN 3 ! Now the only reason it didn't hum to buggery was because it was all running balanced. Of course in certain instances it did hum a bit more than others (probably different loads on/off) oh and switching off the graphics really made a difference ! It had us puzzled for ages until I disovered this and re-wired some 40 or so XLRs. Now it's silent (as near as) and doesn't hum more or less with things being switched on or off. Are you SERIOUSLY suggesting that with unbalanced wiring and such a mistake it would have gone barely noticed for 5 or so years ? Graham |
