From: Howaret Ings on 28 Aug 2005 19:22 Looking at the following scanners. Anyone have experience of either. Epson Perfection 2580 Photo Scanner and Epson Perfection 3590 Photo Scanner I have selected these as I have some negatives that need scanning and they seem cater for & simplify this process. Thanks for any remarks comments. In addition I have the following printer on order: HP Colour LaserJet 2550Ln Any one any comments? Many thanks, Peter -- How are t'ings?

The Epson scanners I've sold produce very nice medium format scans, large format has a problem with the film dipping a touching the glass, producing newton rings For 35mm I've always been a little underwelmed, compared to even a cheap film scanner. > Thanks for any remarks comments. > > In addition I have the following printer on order: > HP Colour LaserJet 2550Ln They're big. They print. They don't do Appletalk.

The first thing for you to decide is what the quality of your negatives is, and how much of that you want to survive in the scans. Then you can decide what quality scanner you need. There is no point in buying a more expensive scanner to get information that isn't there, Jan

They print. They don't do Appletalk. It arrived, it's Big, it prints! Satisfied with the results. Install experiences! Tried it in the office on Windows 2k, first time including restart failed to install/work. Had to uninstall the software and then printer. Worked OK after second install. at least 30 mins wasted. Brought it home. plugget it into the airport base station and used it imeditaly via Bonjour. Easy as that! Peter -- How are t'ings?
