I can't resolve this oft reported problem:
Epson 1240U Scanner with Smart Panel Software 1.0x from NewSoft
copy utility won't work with HP952c Printer (Copy Utility -- Exception
(-1)).
Epson says the fix is to install the Upgrade Copy Utility v2.0 Patch
from Newsoft

After installing this patch I get a fatal error every time I try to
use the copy function. This patch worked before for me on an old
computer, but not on this one running Windows Media Center Edition
(SP2). Any ideas? Thanks.

Try uninstalling both printer and scanner then reboot.

Install scanner. Do NOT install printer. Does it work now?

If it does, not you can try installing the printer.

If the suggestions from Cari don't work you could simply try a free copy
utility. Here are 3 to chose from-

The basic version of Photocopier from Nico Cuppen is free.
