Event Viewer>system- file corrupted

From: sherrybukit on 11 Jun 2010 02:45 Usinh XP Home and sp3, when I try to clear the entires in 'system', it says file corrupted and there is a 'red cross" to it. Although, the pc seems to be working fine, obviously somewhere is not right, how can I get rid of the 'red cross'. Thanks
