Hi !!

I have installed a Debian 4.0 r3 Etch on a HP dc5700. I have used
default partition schema with LVM2. This default partition schema
assigned almost all HD to /home filesystem and just 280 MB to / (root)
filesystem.

So I have reduced /home filesystem with no problem at all, but when I am
going to extend / filesystem I have some problems to umount it after
extending LV. I have tried it from a virtual terminal and from /tmp in
order to be able to umount /

When I umount /, I have receive no message at all, but when I run
resize2fs, I get a messaga that tells me that / is still mounted.

How could I solve this ?.

You must boot from another device because / can never be unmounted
(although it can be mounted read-only) and run resize2fs on the device.
