From: Steve Corr on 16 Jan 2008 05:55 Anyone use them and if so can anyone tell me a good SILENT one? Mine were cheap and I'm regretting not spending more cash on quality. (it was all they had in the shop at the time) They are, "safecom 3.5 External boxes" and they seem to have become noisier over time. I'm looking for some silent, or just quiet ones. thanks in advance. Steve www.myspace.com/idiotstrength www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=26364
From: Steve Corr on 16 Jan 2008 06:15 Actually it's the hard drive enclosure I'm talking about and not the hard drive it's self, as the subject might imply. I thought I said, it's not the hard drives but the enclosures I'm in need of as they are making all the noise. Both my hard drives are Maxtor's (I have 2 that are sat in separate external caddies/enclosures or what ever you call them) I don't think the drives them selves are particularly noisy, it's the crappy fans on the enclosures. I'm not looking to buy new hard drives, just the enclosures. Steve "Gary R.
