From: K Yorke on 16 Jun 2008 23:11 I recently downloaded the latest FabPaint.DLL V3.0.1.4 and installed in my application. Fabrice, thanks for fixing the DIBGetHandle() function, it now works perfectly under Windows XP. However, when testing the application on an old Win'95 machine the application will not load at all, with a popup infobox that says "FABPAINT.DLL expects a newer version of Windows. Upgrade your Windows version". Version 3.0.1.2 loaded OK in Win'95 previously despite a minor bug in the DIBGetHandle(). What is the earliest version of Windows that FABPAINT.DLL now supports ? (and/or is there a way around this ? as some of my customers have very old hardware) Thanks Ken Yorke
From: Fabrice Foray on 17 Jun 2008 03:19 Hi Ken, sorry but I wasn't aware of this situation .. :-( This is may be related to FreeImage, or to VS 2008 I'm using, I don't know but I promise I will investigate. I'll keep you informed via the newsgroup asap. Regards, Fabrice. From: Arne Ortlinghaus on 18 Jun 2008 02:50 There are less and less new products that still support Win95, Win98, Win Millenium. In Italy since some years there exists a law about privacy which could give penalties to companies still using Win95 because of the security restrictions. I would also ask me if it is still necessary to look at this issue. Hi Ken, I have bad news. According to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb531344.aspx, this issue is "Visual Studio 2008" related. No more support for Windows 95. If you have a real nedd for the new FabPaint, I can re-install VS2005 and try to re-build FabPaint 3.x Cheers, Fabrice On 18 juin, 08:50, "Arne Ortlinghaus" <Arne.Ortlingh...(a)acs.it> wrote: > There are less and less new products that still support Win95, Win98, Win > Millenium.
