I once tried to make a list of good (mostly DOS) text editors on FASM's forum, so maybe you'll find a suitable one there (that isn't shareware, meh): http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=6267&start=20 I personally like TDE, but VILE and FTE are good too. (And news://comp.editors is full of hardcore VIM fans, so it's obviously very very popular.)

Actually it's not Qedit but rather Steve Hutcheson's freeware Quick Editor. The configurable menu items make the "assemble and emulate" possible from the editor's menu. Flat Assembler (Fasm), http://flatassembler.net/ Steve Hutcheson's freeware Quick Editor, http://www.movsd.com/qed.htm Virtual Floppy Drive (VFD), http://chitchat.at.infoseek.co.jp/vmware/vfd.html Qemu, http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/ æBIOS, http://aeBIOS.com Mike Gonta look and see - many look but few see http://aeBIOS.com/ae
