I am a long-time Fireworks and have just downloaded the trial version of
Fireworks 8. I am getting the following message when I attempt to launch
Fireworks 8: "Could not launch Fireworks. An internal error occurred."

Platform: Windows XP (SP2)
Other applications installed: Macromedia Studio MX 2004, VS .NET 2003, VSS
6.0, SQL Server 2000 Developer, Notes 6.5, Office XP, Project 2002, Visio 2003,
Firefox 1.07, IIS 5.1, SnagIt 7
Other applications running when Fireworks 8 fails to launch: none

Also, I should note that I have uninstalled all Windows XP PowerToy components
because I understand that certain PowerToy components caused problems in the
previous version of Fireworks (i.e. Fireworks MX 2004). The only two PowerToy
components that I had were MSVDM and ClearType Tuner; neither of these have
been known to have caused problems. In any case, I have uninstalled these in
my desperate bid to make Fireworks 8 functional.
