TrackerDog <http://www.trackerdog.a0soft.com/main.php> Checks to see if you have the latest version of all software installed. NR Deluxe -- TV remote control software HandyShopper -- shopping list software McPhling -- frequently used and favorite apps popup list TCPMP -- video player Datebk5 -- a better calendar app Snapcalc -- pops up a calculator anywhere daMemoPad -- pops up a memo anywhere Diddlebug -- notetaking application with alarm functionality GoogleMaps -- 'nuf said Noah Pro -- Dictionary Palmfiction -- e-book reader ZLauncher -- tabbed launcher with a nice built-in filemanager Bejeweled and Bubblet -- games -- Cause, really, nothing says "I'm a counter culture rebel, fighting the establishment" like an Aibo on a skateboard. - Seen on Slashdot Roberto Castillo robertocastillo(a)ameritech.net
From: Charly on 17 Jan 2008 11:00 Hi, Here is my selection below. They are freeware unless specified otherwise with [Com](for commercial) : CCLite : MSN client Yanoff : news reader (old freeware version) TCPMP : Multimedia viewer : movies, images, music GoogleMaps : Maps on the go HardReset & Softreset : two softwares to issue the resets without removing the Treo's battery. FileZ : Browse your Palm content, manage files & folders UniCMD : same as above, with a different look&feel & more KeyGTime+ : alternate lock screen SiEd : a real Text Editor on Palm CardExport [Com]: Use your Palm as a SD card reader/writer. Additionnaly, allow the Treo's battery to charge even without installing the Palm drivers on the computer (It's a shame Palm does not provide these with PalmOS) NVBackup : does backups on SD cards. IrOff : keep your infrared device off to save battery. OnOff Control : manage the way your Palm stays on or switches off. OperaMini : not so nice, not so stable, but can be better than the default Palm web browser (again : Why Palm did not put NetFront web browser on Treo's PalmOS ?) NetFront [sort of Com] : THE BEST WEB BROWSER ON PalmOS. Unfortunately avaiable only on Sony Clie. Once you've tried it, you miss it if you don't have a Clie... (some people found a way to have it running on T5, TC, TX...) UDMH [Com] : defrag Palm's memory PalmPDF : View PDF document as is (usefull when received by email) SmbMate : connect to Windows shared folders. Also, but not killer's app but I like those anyway (all are commercials): - TomTom GPS/Mapping - NoviiRemote (Universal IR remote control) Enjoy, Charly

But...I am missing very much a program like Notepad. Where has it gone? It is much faster to make a draft (paint) incl. hints about size, weight etc. instead of typing anything by caps. Someone using anything like Notepad? Juergen

Besides Contacts, Calendar, and Memos (why did they change the name from Notepad??), I swear by... CoPilot (free) (weight and balance, and other stuff for flying) ....and... Docs To Go (free with my Palm) (word and Excel, and finally let me transfer text from the palm to/from any other computer via SD cards, albeit the long way) RealOne (free with my Palm) (I don't really like it, but I have my landline voicemail forwarded to Email as an attachment when I travel, and this lets me take the message with me, via SD cards) I miss: Diddle (worked with Palm VIIx, not with the Tungsten E) I find the following utterly useless: Expense (came with) any internet connection software (Tungsten E doesn't do WiFi and won't accept a WiFi card and Palm won't say why or fix it - I just have to throw it away and buy a new PDA if I want that) The following is promising but not flexible enough: MobileDB (came with) I'd like to set up a database where for any field I can select =any number= of menu items. MobileDB only lets you pick one. (I'd use it for a wine notebook) Jose
