When I export a file containing line art from Illustrator 8 as a PNG and open it in Fireworks MX, the lines and colors are washed out. Why is this?

Try opening the AI file in FW instead of saving as a PNG in Illustrator.
Been a long time since I've used FW MX, so I can't recall what support
it has for AI files.
