From: spdorsey on 19 Jan 2006 14:39 Hello I'm developing a multimedia CD ROM for Windows (mac also, maybe) and it needs to contain video. I own Flash 8, and I can create .flv video files. Can I import .flv into Director MX 2004? Also, after they are imported, can I control them (pause, rewind, stuff like that)? Any examples or tutorials out there? Thanks, ---------------Steve
From: JB on 19 Jan 2006 17:41 IF the promised Flash xtra update to support Flash 8 materializes, you may be able to import a flash file containing the video. In te mean time you will have to use another video format that is supported by director.

No, you could use Flash video, you'll just have to use the Sparc codec and not On2 and publish to Flash 7 (and test it in Director...)
From: spdorsey on 19 Jan 2006 18:34 Dude, I was able to get a .swf into Director saved as version 6. It contains a ..flv movie, and nothing else. Is it hard to get buttons in the Director presentation that can control the Flash video? I thought about placing the control buttons in the Flash movie (using the built-in controls that you can enable from within Flash), but my controls have to appear in the lower left of the 1024x768 of the Director screen, and the video is in the upper-right, so they cannot be part of the same ..swf file. How would I go about controlling the .swf video playback from within Director? Thanks again, ------------------S
