From: Chris (mudbubble) on 13 Sep 2005 10:04 check this: http://www.mudbubble.com/downloads/cardFlip.swf I used simple rectangle (no outline) and the Distort tool and shape tweens. I made 2 shapes, recatngle, then in 2nd keyframe skewed the same rectangle so that one side (top) was wider and the other side (bottom) was less wide then squash it vertically so it appears thin - this gives the illusion of perspective - then i applied a shape tween and easing in. Then i copied thos frames and pasted them after the initial shape tween - reversed them - flipped vertically - had to use a shape hint or 2 to keep it from imploding - and the final touch was to fill the initial shape with white and then when it gets to the keyframe where it's at its thinnest - i change the color to a darker gray - the shape tween tweens the color and it appears like a shadow, giving it even more depth. d/l source here: http://www.mudbubble.com/downloads/cardFlip.zip now the challenge is - this didnt work with rounded edges (which cards have). Rounded edges contain too many vectors and the shape tween fails. But, if you were me, I would use what i just did as a guide - create a new layer - set rectangle to have rounded edges and start by creating the shapes manually frame-by-frame using our shape tween as a guide. So make rectangles with rounded edges and use Distort tool to make shapes that match the shapes made in the shape tween. Only have to make 10 of them since this animation is made in halves - simply copy/paste the 1st 10 frames and reverse them and flip vertically to produce the latter half of the animation. Then you will have to figure out how to get your graphics on the card - if the graphics are vectors then use Distort tool like we just did and frame by frame it using this as a guide. hope it help - this may make a good tutorial for Keyframer.com or even Devnet. -chris --> www.mudbubble.com - www.keyframer.com - Team Macromedia <-- --> http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/flash/3d_animation.html <-- --> http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en&as_ugroup=*flash* <-- --> mudbubble mailing list: stserv(a)mudbubble.com with "subscribe news(a)mudbubble.com" in body <-- OhForChristsSake wrote: > Yes the card will have artwork on it, but I can't supply it because it's confidential. From: ainur5 on 13 Sep 2005 11:28 I am working on a similar idea. It is an interactive memory game for 4th graders. The museum I work for is developing a number of online interactives, and this post has helped alot. Thanks for the tips Chris, greatly appreciated.
From: Chris (mudbubble) on 13 Sep 2005 11:59 Love to hear that! that's what makes this all worth while to me - i remember starting out back in the flash 3/4 days and coming here for some real world tips from anybody - urami especially - nice to give back whenever i can. --> www.mudbubble.com - www.keyframer.com - Team Macromedia <-- --> http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/flash/3d_animation.html <-- --> http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en&as_ugroup=*flash* <-- --> mudbubble mailing list: stserv(a)mudbubble.com with "subscribe news(a)mudbubble.com" in body <-- ainur5 wrote: > I am working on a similar idea. hmmm... I asked the same question 6.9.2005 and nobody, yes nobody - answered like later on another question... because the adrenaline I try to solve it myself.... Check out temporary work directory http://rockdata.org/sjk/kuvakansiot/pelikortit after the card deck opens it loads another swf... It's under construction so only one card has that illusion of flipping... click first blue card on top. Is that what you mean? - Latvis rockdata.org |
