From: Bob Vardell on 26 Aug 2005 09:03 I have tasks set up and they are linked, in order, and then finally linked to the milestone. How do I have project show me the float time that I have before the task(s) miss the milestones? Thanks, bob.vardell(a)charter.net

From: Steve House [Project MVP] on 26 Aug 2005 10:40 If your project is set up exactly as you've described it there's zero slack or float in any of the tasks. You need to also have a deadline set for the finish milestone (Task Information form, Advanced tab). Then Mike's suggestion of the Schedule table will show you the slack. -- Steve House [MVP] MS Project Trainer & Consultant Visit http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm for the FAQs "Bob Vardell" <BobVardell(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A12D230C-AFD3-496B-9AC9-D0780A5EFD32(a)microsoft.com... >I have tasks set up and they are linked, in order, and then finally linked >to > the milestone. > How do I have project show me the float time that I have before the > task(s) > miss the milestones? > Thanks, > bob.vardell(a)charter.net >

From: Steve House [Project MVP] on 27 Aug 2005 16:33 Yep - that why I said "exactly as described" - he didn't say explicitly he had fixed the milestone so I assumed he had not. <g> -- Steve House [MVP] MS Project Trainer & Consultant Visit http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm for the FAQs "Jan De Messemaeker" <jandemes at prom hyphen ade dot be> wrote in message news:euQEmJmqFHA.2072(a)TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > .... not if he fixed the milestone > > -- > Jan De Messemaeker > Microsoft Project Most Valuable Professional > http://users.online.be/prom-ade/ > +32-495-300 620 > "Steve House [Project MVP]" <sjhouse.remove.this(a)to.send.hotmail.com> > schreef in bericht news:uxiMQwkqFHA.4044(a)TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... >> If your project is set up exactly as you've described it there's zero > slack >> or float in any of the tasks.
