Hi folks:

Radio Shack used to sell foam loudspeaker grilles that were reasonably
acoustically transparent. They seem to to sell them anymore, and I couldn't
Google any that were in stock other than someone who would sell me 1 square
meter of the stuff for $53. This is about 0.99 square meters more material
than I need. So does anyone know a source for this stuff in small
quantities?

Peace,
Paul

How thick does it need to be? Does it have to be any color?

An HVAC supplier can sell you humidifier pads which are a similar sort
of very open material.

For the most part, foam grilles are no longer fashionable, and since the
consumer electronics guys aren't selling speakers with them any more,
Radio Shack has stopped selling replacement ones. Radio Shack _does_ sell
a foam turntable mat that might work if you need a very small piece.

Parts Express might have what you are looking for.

I know they have something, but only you know if it is an exact match.

About 3/8". This is to replace the foam under the metal screen of an E-V 660
microphone. I tried the Shack windscreens, but they're far from acoustically
transparent. Color doesn't matter.

About an inch in diameter.

I don't need anything exact; just something acoustically transparent and
about 3/8" thick. I'll check them out.

Paul
