LOL LOL LOL I like that he was having fun with this one :-)

Yeah OK his singing in this one is really just another instrument in the
mix, I think I might label this one an instrumental solo with vocal
accompaniment :-)

I am watching Dan's fingers so I know what I am listening for, but the
Hammond got buried in this one, I can barely make it out. :-( IMO the other
instruments and Dan's vocal were in good balance, and came through clearly
and distinctly (the lead guitar's accents were perfect IMO). Perhaps it's
just this recording and in person the Hammond wasn't lost. I missed getting
more of the 'fill' it provides.

In the video he says he just finished writing this song "yesterday"... so I
guess he hadn't written all if it yet when this MP3 was recorded? LOL

You're right about the MP3 guitarist, he does a superb job ad-libbing. But
actually I prefer the laid-back feel of the video version better. I also
like the key of the video version better! Sorry. I wish the Hammond could
be heard in the video version like it is in the MP3. Other than that I
didn't have a problem with the levels in the video of the other instruments
or Dan's voice.

My comment about the "vocal accompaniment" wasn't directed at the volume
level of Dan's voice, rather this song isn't all about the lyrics, the vocal
is just another descriptive instrument that has it's place and is not the
'feature' :-)

I agree completely. This mp3 take has so much more spring in it's step.
Guitar is more inspired and confident as well. One other thing that I'm
getting little sprinkles of here is some welcome vocal back and forth
between the lead and the rest of the band. These songs and performances
of Dan's would really blossom with some judicious backup vocals. I mean,
6 guys in a band and only one guy can open his piehole and yelp?! ;-)

More obvious give and take even if it was just echoing a phrase or two
here and there would be nice contrast, no?.

I'm just fulla good ideas eh? (or full of somethin!)

I think the best key for Dan's voice is the key of "none"....

:-)
