You know, I think it's a noble effort, on Apple's part, to try to
migrate people's information from older Macs to newer Macs; but man...
when it goes wrong, it really goes horribly wrong!
</rant>

At this point, I'm thinking you'll be better off deleting the migrated
account, creating a brand-new account, and then copying your documents
and so on over from the old Mac to the new Mac with a Firewire cable.
This will almost certainly be faster than trying to unwrangle the mess
Apple's migration assistant has caused.

So what I would do is log in as an administrator, use the Accounts panel
in System Preferences to delete the bad account, create a brand-new
account, log into it, connect a Firewire cable between both machines,
reboot the old machine while holding down the T key to boot it in
Firewire Target Disk Mode, and then copy your documents over to the new
account. Use caution when selecting wwhich files you'll copy over. I
recommend you refrain from copying files from /Users/you/Library
whenever possible. Try to restrict yourself to copying from Desktop,
Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, Public, and Sites.
