That's standard practice for PR departments: deny everything until it has been officially announced. I think it was possible to refit the missing Filter (Audio Filter) on the A1200. At that time I was astounded about the crystal-clear Sound of the A1200. But today I prefer the smoother, filtered Sound of the A500/2000. The A1200 was a hit in the U.K., so far I remember. The Case of my A1200 was manufactured in Scotland. :-) But far too capable... I rember top-programmer working on a A1200 (020 with FastRAM) already using 1st level cache-strategies. Kind regards, Daniel Mandic

True, although Commodore usually did their own PR rather than using real PR people... the ones i dealt with simply weren't able to field questions well enough to be trained or anything! i may love the machines, but the company itself left a bit to be desired sometimes - but on the plus side they *did* try to stiff Microsoft over Commodore BASIC so that counts in their favour. =-) -- ______________________________ _________________________________ / /\/ ___/ / ___/ / / ___/\ / Website: www.cosine.org.uk / / /\_/ / /__ / / / / __/\\/ / ICQ: 44373717 IRC: TMR{C0S} / / /__/ / / / / / / / / /\ /_____________________________/ /_____/_____/_____/__/__/__/_____/ / \_____________________________\/\_____\_____\_____\__\__\__\_____\/TMR

The A1200 always had an audio filter AFAIK. The only difference _might_ have been that it was disabled by default (can't remember), but the status is easily toggled with about a gazillion programs on Aminet. Yes, you are right. The Filter could be disabled (A500/2000) by removing a resistor, so I thought refitting one should do the same with the A1200, just otherwise. Best Regards, Daniel Mandic |
