From: JM on 5 Jun 2005 19:57 Hi all! I haven't recorded anything in about 3 years, new job and family life has taken its toll on my music making experiences. Anyways, with my new job we do some web broadcasting production. They had recently reconfigured the production room and took all of the old equipment and put it in a closet about 2 or 3 years back. To my surprise I found 2 Genelec 1029A monitors sitting unused and unwanted. No one even knew if they worked. I brought them home hooked them up to the old Mona unit and both appear to be working fine. There is also a harmon kardon sub that I plan to bring home next week to see if it works. They are now mine. I had previously (about 3 years ago) used some Alesis MKII non-powered monitors. If you had to pick between the genelecs and some other monitors in the same price range what would you pick? I suppose I could sell these on ebay along with the Alesis and upgrade to something of a little better quality. I haven't recorded in so long that I'm going to have to readjust and get used to whatever monitors I start off with again. Any help from those who have experienced the Genelec 1029A and other monitors within the same price range will be greatly appreciated. TIA John

Keep 'em, they're great speakers and very accurate. Way better than anything Alesis makes. -- -- Regards, Ted Perlman tedperl(a)pacbell.net Website feat. music, resume, photos, press: www.tedperlman.com

I've been spinning just regular Cds over the weekend and I'm amazed at all of the background noise I can hear in several professional mixes. Stuff I've never heard before for sure.

If you find anything with the following numbers on them, email me immediately: 1176 LA2A C414 U87 (especially if there's a pair) They might be worth some cash. Hundreds, even. I'll even pay shipping. <g> malachi "JM" <nospam(a)myisp.net> wrote in message news:11a8qfusln59pcb(a)corp.supernews.com... > On 6/6/2005 3:05 AM Ted Perlman spoke thusly<br> >> < suppose I could sell these on ebay along with the Alesis and upgrade to
