Mandriva Downloads?
The only remaining download site in the USA that I can find for Mandriva is gatech, and it's very slow. None of the others listed at http://www.linux.org/dist/download.html?ID=21 even work. For awhile I had good access at a server in Indiana, but it's not responsive recently. Does anyone have a current list ... 6 May 2008 22:22

Debian - installation using the do_initrd option
I have installed and run Ubuntu on a dell dimention 2100 series with no issues. this is a p4 2.26ghz with 256 mb ram, onboard intel mobo- integrated graphics, 38gb hdd, so basically same as yours. i would suggest it's not a spec issue but probably hardware. try running memtest to see if you have a ram issue, if not... 6 May 2008 22:22
