alpha 5 versus MS access I am interested in having an internet accessible database. I think I know the limitations with Access (alot of limitations). I have gone to the alpha 5 website and downloaded a trial version of version 9-platinum. I really haven't delved into much. I was wondering if anyone had experience with it or had specific... 1 Jul 2008 15:25

Replacing Checkbox Value Is there a way to globally replace a "yes" or "true" selection in a checkbox (Yes/No) field in a table with the opposite? In other words, globally check or uncheck boxes in a field. As a workaround, I tried putting in "-1" as the default value for a checkbox field, instead of "0", but that didn't work. ... 30 Jun 2008 17:53
Several Users---One Database We have several people who enter information into a database. I have to go in and add information to these records. If I have a Form open and someone adds a new record, I have to exit out of the Form and then open it back up again to see the new record. Converting Text to Date I have been put in charge of a database that was created a while ago. At the time of creation, all date fields were formatted as Text fields. Some of these fields have the dates entered as 07/01/08 Tue. How can I convert these Text fields to Date fields so that the date will stay in the same format, e.g., 2 ... 30 Jun 2008 17:53
Date fields I work with medications in a residential program. why are carriage returns showing as boxes? When I copy and paste XML into access, the carriage returns are displaying as boxes instead of space in my reports. If I copy the XML out of access and paste it into wordpad it shows as spaces instead of the boxes. ... 30 Jun 2008 18:55

Using "collect data through e-mail" problem I am ready for some humility today. I have been doing everything I can think of, including creating a new database and making sure these addresses are in Outlook 2007, but after I hit "send" to the email addresses chosen, I get the error page "Failed to send the e-mail message to some recipients." It suggests... 1 Jul 2008 13:22
Continuous forms - yet another question A company can have multiple locations (e.g., NY, Boston, Washington, DC), with only one as the primary (NY). In a continuous form, I'd like to show all primary locations, and provide the opportunity to view the secondary locations - similar to what Lotus Notes uses in the form of a "twistie" by letting the use... 1 Jul 2008 17:29 |
