I updated my Windows XP home from SP2 to SP3. From then on, whenever I put my
laptop into standby or hibernate mode, I get disconnected to the internet and
it can't renew its IP unless you restart the system. This annoys me very
much. In effect, I can't put my pc into standby/hibernation mode to save
power. Please help me with this.

I have this same exact problem also. I have an HP DV8000. Has anyone got
this issue resolved yet????
