MBM5 (Motherboard Monitor 5) is exactly what you want. http://www.3degs.net/index.php?page=webfile&dsn1=nav_webfiles&file=9 Also get Everest Home Edition. It does not have an alarm but it has just about everything else. http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en The manufacturer of your mainboard may have a temp monitor but MBM5 is the most popular. It will even give you the temp of your SMART hard drives if you know how to set it up properly. -- BOYCOTT SONY! SONY IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER YOUR COMPUTER! Check your motherboard's driver CD. Usually it will include a motherboard probe type of software. -- WebWalker email: webwalker(a)bluebottle.com

You've posted to the wrong newsgroup, most people here aren't programmers and don't understand your question. I understand the question, but don't know the answer. The place to post is in a newsgroup for Windows programmers. Or whatever OS you are writing for. C or C++ newsgroups may not help because i've seen posts there on the subject. THey say to post to an OS specific newsgroup. VB programmers may know. Check this out. I was mentioned in a VB nwsgroup but may also be accessible to C or C++ programmers. If it's in the Windows API or something. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/wmisdk/wmi/win32_temperatureprobe.asp you could search for the answer to your q, many have asked in diff newsgroups, see if an ans is already posted. www.google.com/groups
