(sigh) What about JavaKB? It is an alternate
web interface to usenet (the Java groups, in
any case). I have ..some support for web based
access to usenet, as many folks do not have the
luxury of immediate access to a news client,
let alone a reliable news server.

"I hear ya'" when it comes to complaints about
gg-spam, it was around 95% of all the spam to
usenet (c.l.j.* groups), last time I checked.

I looked at it, it doesn't say it's an interface to Usenet.
That's not Ok with me.

To be more specific, I think GG should be very explicit that it is
merely providing an interface to Usenet, and separate its own "groups"
from that.

Just checked it out - only in the meta tags, not on the start page of GG
itself, does it mention Usenet at all - it behaves as if this is a great
gift from Google.

And that is another point of contempt. Although spamming Usenet is not
that difficult to begin with.
