Hi,

Can anyone please recommend one that I'd be able to use with the likes of
The Gimp & Sodipodi?

I have an old Genius serial 6x6" tablet which I thought I'd be able to get
working in the interim but without success so far.

Thanks.

There's pretty good support for various Wacom tablets in the kernel,
X, and therefore any applications that use the functionality. (I
don't know about Sodipodi, but The Gimp has support.)

Indeed, I use a Graphire mouse and tablet as my mouse at home. I
don't know whether there's support for the latest low-cost Wacom
tablet (Bamboo).

Wow, what a ghastly web site: mostly Flash, complete with a Flash
splash screen. And pretty horrible to use. But it does suggest that
Graphire4's are still available, should you want a reasonably cheap
tablet with a mouse (they don't come with a mouse, by the looks of it,
but mice are available).

I've got a serial A4 Intuos somewhere that I could be persuaded to
part with for a modest fee, if that would be of interest? It only has
the basic pen, and it's old (so no box, software, or anything), but I
think it still works (I'd check, obviously). (IIRC, the Intuos has
tilt sensitivity as well as pressure, which I the Graphire series
don't have.)

Is that still alive? I switched to Inkscape years ago ...

Wacom's el-cheapo Volito model works for me. Not sure if they're still
available, or whether the Bamboo is a rebadged derivative.

Best Regards,
Alex.
