You might still need support for Java programs, MP3 audio files, and browser plugins for Macromedia Flash, Adobe Acrobat, RealPlayer, and Windows Media Video. You may also want to add support for playing DVD videos on your computer, and to try out the new XGL graphical toys. Here's how to effectively make SUSE Linux 10.1 into the perfect desktop OS." -- Texeme Textcasting powers http://www.you-read-it-here-first.com

This has been discussed _a lot_ elsewhere. I suggest you see, e.g.: http://groups.google.com/group/alt.os.linux.suse/search?group=alt.os.linux.suse&q=suse+10+upgrade&qt_g=1&searchnow=Search+this+group

Yes I have seen it hear as well. Just a rhetorical question - if SuSe bring out say 10.2 which improves on 10.1; are there normally any issues upgrading two versions ahead (by this I mean from 10.0 to 10.2)?

Good question, to which I'd love to hear the question myself. Some Web-based software requires staged upgrades. While we're at it, I have my own question to add: Can I upgrade from 8.1 and 9.3 to 10.1 while retaining most things, leaving them in tact? |
