From: dthomas1 on 15 Apr 2008 19:40 I'm running ASUS Commando MB with latest BIOS and Vista and was trying to install a WD 500GB HD and can only get Vista to format 250 MB. Also tried XP and 2000 and could not get them to format the full 500GB either. Is this a limitation on these OS?

Vista has a higher limit. What do you mean by the "full 500GB"? Arno

If the BIOS is reporting the wrong size, I'd try to fix that first; it may indicate that something is wrong about the HD. For example, if that HD is used or refurbed, it may have been short-stroked down from 500GB to 250GB. -- Cheers, Bob |
