Hi

I'm doing a redesign on my site, the new one being completely flash. I have
made the main part of the site, but the buttons arent working. Theyre supposed
to launch a different flash file, but they dont.

If you go to the scene called 'Main' and the layer named 'about' the button
will open the external swf file if the instance name for the movie clip in all
the key frames is called 'about' but the button does not animate. If the
instance name for the movie clip is called 'about' in the last keyframe, the
button does animate, but does not open the external swf file.

You're not making your buttons correctly. The only right one is skipintro, the
rest are movie clips or made wrong. Pay careful attention when converting
something to a symbol that you give it the right type of behavior.

Only problem with that is that you cannot animate the buttons as well as you
can. I know there is a way of making movie clips behave as buttons but I cant
remember how. Is there a way to make a button behave exactly like a movie clip
because It would ruin the feel of the site if the buttons dont fade out and
just fade in

Just put your buttons inside of movie clip symbols, then motion tween the MC symbols.
