When I click "start new scan" I get "an undefined program error [2117]"

This just recently started coming up.

I have been scanning photos ok with no problems.

Don't know what I did wrong unless it was to unplug scanner and clean
glass and mirror. I re-checked the connections and they seem alright.

Anyone have this problem? What does the error number mean?

HP ScanJet 3200C ... Windows 2000
