From: Sasso on 20 Sep 2005 23:36 Hey folks, Got a dead mobo that won?t POST, got the blank screen and fan running, but no (a) drive. Problem is, it was a refurb OEM from HP, and everyone knows the support we get from them. And I?m not paying for a 6month support contract which is going to get me nowhere! My next step tonight is to disconnect everything but the CPU, 1 stick RAM, Keyboard, VID card, and see if it posts tonight. Then hopefully I can connect the flop drive and flash the BIOS. Which is actually why I got to this point in the first place. My question to anyone is: GOT ANY OTHER IDEAS? A close relative to this board as a retail from Asus is the P4G800-V. I found some guys who actually flashed the BIOS successfully with the rom image for this board and the flash utility on a boot disk. And they said a reflash back to HP specs could be done in the reverse. Well, I wouldn?t be here if it did!
