solving x^2=const for x / root simplifications
Hello, Apart from the rest of my course (using TI Voyage 200 ;) ), I'm using an HP 50g (2.09) for a few weeks now and I like it a lot. I noticed two things I could neither explain to me nor find anything about it in the group archives though; so I hope you could have some hints. Firstly, I tried to solve a si... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
PEQUM equation manager update
Just a note for anyone that uses my equation managing program PEQUM. I've added the ability to assign units to your variables so you can solve easily with units. I needed this capability for a class I was taking, so I threw it in there during one class period. It isn't extremely intuitive to use and I'd intended ... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
HP journal
I don't know if you are familiar with this website. I found it when I was working for H.P. Just about anything they have ever produced at sometime is found in the HP journal. The entry of the HP48SX is in the June 1991 issue, the HP49GX is in the Aug 1994 issue. It is a list of PDF files with the date and conte... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
50g Display Formats
I searched a bit for this but I found nothing, I like my hp minus one very annoying detail: In STD mode the calculator forces me to count zeros up to 11 places in some situations, this is not very good for exams. In FIX mode the calculator rounds numbers, e.i. in FIX3 "0.00051" and "0.0009" are both displayed... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
Uploading programs to 50g
I have had my HP50G since last christmas, I've tried to learn all of its powerful features, lately I've been wanting to upload programs I'm finding. One is to calculate the distance/bearing between two cities using Lat/ Longs. I have the connectivitykit software installed. I know about the Xserv() thing. My ... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
Romberg implementation
John Meyers, I've been playing around with integration techniques the past few days and came across something you wrote about the Romberg method a few months back. You wrote: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv The Romberg method of numeric integration is a "sampling" method, which makes su... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
Programming
Finally have time to really learn my calculators. I want to learn to program them since one of them is always with me and my computer is not. I want to program for the math problems in some of the math problem books. I don't know weather to use sys RPL, user RPL, or C on the computer and transfer over to calculat... 10 Dec 2007 00:37
