It does for many reasons, however most people expect a new pc to look
different much in the same way as they buy a new car, you can't change the
box much, so what's on it has to change. So Vista suits both the hardware
manufacturers and the software manufacturers..

The fact that it will not be running faster is compensated for because it is
a faster machine and has to have a lot more ram to work
What do most people use the Interrnet for anyway, browsing, ebaying, itunes
or p2p or online gaming. The latter have the most to loose IMO, but they are
by far the minority. Most modern pc are easily capable of this. Even Tescos
is now selling a quad core CPU! (It's also got a terrabyte of hard disk
space).-

As far as business is concerned when Microsoft stops the 'production' of new
COAs then they're going to have to buy vista if they're running Windows
servers.
