A copyright tells you who owns the right to copy. It does not GIVE you
the right to copy. The right is on the side of the owner, not on the
side of the person who copies.

Understanding what a copyright is and act accordingly would be even
better.

Yes, they did. Oh, you mean here on earth.

I am sure he had them. Just as you.

What roasting? because people point out that what he did MIGHT have been
wrong due to the copyright issue and how to handle things in the future,
I would say he was helped rather then roasted.

If it was a roasting it would have gone in a complete different
direction. Also both posts let the possibilaty open that he actually is
the owner of said piece.

I am sorry Gentlemen,

Maybe I am addressing a largely German audience, and as Chuck has
pointed out, I am just another stupid American with two years of high
school German who couldn't even ask coherent directions to the nearest
toilet in Germany. In fact, hardly any of us can speak anything fluently
and if you ask our Britt Cousins that would include "English!" However,
you guys are gonna be in for a rude awakening when the rest of the
America's Novell holdouts finally accept that there isn't going to be a
Netware 7 and reluctantly come to the realization that their only
alternative is to either Migrate to Microsoft or embrace either Linux or
a UNIX alternative. We are neither this formal in our newsgroups or as
conscious of bandwidth and resource conservation concerns as our
European counterparts. We tend to ramble and to make offhanded remarks
(All in good sport of course!), and I meant no offense to houghi, but
honestly, I don't see how Will did a thing other than to provide a
service in the interest of helping others in his reposting of Jem's
Article.

Helping each other! Isn't that what Newsgroups are all about?

Thank you, Will!

PS

The last time I spoke with a German visitor to my country, I felt as if
my grammer was under a microscope as she lamblasted my every gramatical
error. What goes around comes around!
