I didn't make myself clear. Sorry.

An AMD CPU on a motherboard with an Intel chipset? Or is that an Intel processor on a motherboard with a chipset at home in both worlds, like a VIA chipset? William (re-enlivening a Compaq Presario S4020WM with Intel Inside intead of AMD, hopefully reducing the glut of S478 CPUs around here...)
From: Brian K on 14 Sep 2008 05:50 It should be possible. Several imaging/restore softwares have methods for different hardware restores. TeraByte have scripts to get a hard drive booting in a different computer in their OS Deployment Tool Suite. http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/tbosdt.htm I had an image of a 10 year old Gateway (IDE HD). The image was restored to a Dell 9150 (SATA HD). Naturally it blue screened on starting. After running the TeraByte scripts, WinXP booted to the desktop and started installing "new Hardware". I was surprised how well the Gateway OS worked on the Dell. Sorry. you were clear like always. what could be any more clear than the image of windows vomiting? that is wonderfully precise. i was just picking on the point about activation. but i vote for the windows vomit remark as the comment of the week. |
