From: Tommy-Project 2007 Novice Tommy-Project 2007 on 7 May 2008 09:06 I am trying to insert a new task into the middle of an existing chart, but the option to insert a new task is grayed out. It will let me add one to the bottom of the chart works, but how can Insert lines in the middle?
From: Mike Glen on 7 May 2008 10:02 Hi Tommy, Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :) From the Gantt Chart view, click where you want the task to go. Then select Insert/New Task or click the Insert button on your keyboard. Does that work? You could also try right-clicking the ID number of the task below where you want it to go and select New Task. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :) Mike Glen MS Project MVP See http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc for Project Tutorials "Tommy-Project 2007 Novice" <Tommy-Project 2007 Novice(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:A42455F0-5CAB-4607-B9CD-306105E41B0B(a)microsoft.com... >I am trying to insert a new task into the middle of an existing chart, but > the option to insert a new task is grayed out. From: Jim Spiller on 7 May 2008 10:46 You can't Insert if the chart is Grouped. Remove Grouping by selecting Project-Group by-No Group.
