There's 2 sites that run what appear to be Flash effects that I'm curious to
know how they did it...

1. http://www.mgmgrand.com/nightlife/ - There's a water splash type effect in
the bottom right corner... I have no clue how this one was done and have
searched all over for tutorials that might resemble it, but to no avail. Any
thoughts on this one?

2. http://www.halo3.com/ - This one has some translucent, whispy blue
effects... I'm 'thinking' this one is similar to the Animated Cloud Effects
tutorial (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash/index.htm#SpecialEffects) but
I'm not sure... Any thoughts?

It's a video imported into flash, most likely edited in After Effects, exported into
FLV which is then run within SWF file.

Same as above, a video file. This one tho is large and stretched to fill window size.
If you check the cache folder, you will find bg.flv file which you can import into Flash :)

These effects are way too cpu intensive, even not with Flash 9 player and serious power CPUs.
Also it's much easier to produce effect like that in After Effects or any other program of
your preference then just load it / import in run time. Considering most of the users are on
broad band, an extra 1MB for background effect makes no impact, visually on the other hand,
lots of difference.
