From: Franc Zabkar on 7 Jul 2008 17:45 Pioneer have a page that lists Supported DVD-Writable Media for various model series: http://wwwbsc.pioneer.co.jp/product-e/ibs/device_e/dev00003r_e.html I don't know if other manufacturers have similar data. However, I have recently been able to extract MID codes embedded in the SB01 firmware for a Samsung SH-S182F DVD writer: http://www.users.on.net/~fzabkar/DVD/Samsung/SH-S182F_media.txt The above text file includes NUL characters which may not render properly in some browsers. However, the file can be viewed correctly in a text editor such as Windows Notepad. I tried to do the same for my LG writer, but its firmware code is compressed. Perhaps this idea can be applied to other brands and models. - Franc Zabkar -- Please remove one 'i' from my address when replying by email.
