From: davidd on 9 May 2008 13:29 How can I find posts to Microsoft Communities again in the future? This dynamic interfaces does not seem to allow me to permlink to them. I've used the Usenet before and would usually use Google News to post/track on here but my company's IT department does not allow us to use that site... I'm glad to be able to use Microsoft Communities to still reach some of the Usenet but my posts are nearly useless to me a day or two after I make them because I can no longer link to them... Thanks, David
From: JulieS on 9 May 2008 17:37 Hello davidd, I think you'll find that most of the regular posters here use a newsreader like Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Agent etc. The newsgroups are all accessible through the news server: msnews.microsoft.com. The project newsgroups are: microsoft.public.project microsoft.public.project.developer microsoft.public.project.server If you can only use the web interface (URL below), you can search for posts by you by entering your posting name (davidd) in the Search for: box at the top of the newsgroup. http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.project&lang=en&cr=US I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along. From: davidd on 10 May 2008 00:21 Thanks Julie. I use Outlook Express at home but at work I am limited to the web interface. I have found myself using web forums much more often than Usenet over the last few years and now keep copies of links to all my forum posts in an online database. I will just keep a copy of the post title in my database and search for it. The "notify me of replies" feature is great but the URL included took me to an inactive page. Nice exercise, now I know how to find my way here from http://microsoft.com (ugh). Thanks again, David "JulieS" wrote: > Hello davidd, > > I think you'll find that most of the regular posters here use a > newsreader like Outlook Express, Windows Mail, Agent etc. > > The newsgroups are all accessible through the news server: > msnews.microsoft.com. From: JulieS on 10 May 2008 07:52 You're welcome David. I find the web interface slow and difficult to follow up so I only use it when no other option is available.
