Hello,
It happens to me quite often. After conducting one search, regedit
does not even try to search for the new search entry, instead displaying
"Finished searching through the registry" message.
When I restart Windows regedit will repeat the same scenario.
How to re-initialize regedit without restarting Windows?
Thanks,
Claire

Forgot to add that the closing and reopening regedit does not clear that.

While in the Registry Editor, scroll to top and highlight My Computer
before entering search criteria.

Fast way to scroll to the top is to hit the Home key on the keyboard. Then
do your search.
