If you can get the drivers, why not put them on a CD ?
When XP install starts, on the screen it will show ( bottom of screen)

" Press F6 to install a SCSI or RAID controller"

Press F6
Insert Cd with disk drivers
browse to drivers folder to load them
once loaded, reinsert XP CD
continue

I just did a google search for
" xp install press F6 sata"

and found this page so rather than me typing :
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operatingsystems/ss/instxprepair1_3.htm

"older version of the Windows XP installation CD and you have an SATA disk
drive, you will need to press F6 here to load any necessary drivers. The
instructions that came with your hard drive or computer should include
this information. ..."
