What I want is something that is very common. I have seen it
in a zillion presentations, yet I do not know how its done.

Basically how to insert content step by step (ie using mouse
click or enter), in the same slide ?

e.g. If I have a slide with 3 boxes (with text in them), how can I
ahve them displayed 1 box (with text) at a time ?

Hi Sridhar

You can do this with animation. The best way to approach it depends on the
version and the content (for example animation schemes work well for text in
placeholders in 2003, but the feature was removed in 2007 and I wouldn't use
them for shapes). There are 3 great training courses on animation here:
