From: sam.s.kong on 13 Feb 2006 16:32 Hello! I recently purchased an HP desktop which comes with 2 of 512MB 1Rx8 PC2-3200U-333-12. So the total RAM is 1GB. I ordered 2 of 1G DDR2 3200 from newegg.com. But the delivered memories don't fit in the slot. I compared them with the original memories and the shape is different. How do you tell DDR from DDR2? I suspect that the ones from newegg.com are not DDR2 even if the label says DDR2. I will call newegg.com but I want to know the fact. Thanks. Sam
From: Pen on 13 Feb 2006 16:45 DDR is 184 pins, while DDR2 is 240 pins in desktops. <sam.s.kong(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:1139866353.150198.249010(a)g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Hello! > > I recently purchased an HP desktop which comes with 2 of 512MB 1Rx8 > PC2-3200U-333-12. > So the total RAM is 1GB. > I ordered 2 of 1G DDR2 3200 from newegg.com. > But the delivered memories don't fit in the slot. > I compared them with the original memories and the shape is different. > How do you tell DDR from DDR2? > > I suspect that the ones from newegg.com are not DDR2 even if the label > says DDR2. > I will call newegg.com but I want to know the fact. > > Thanks. > > Sam >
