From: Shananza on 25 Jul 2008 15:59 When I run the Broken Links report, it shows hundreds of broken links. However, when I edit the page the broken links are on, the links work fine. I've also copied the "broken" link from FrontPage and pasted it in the Internet and it has worked fine. I've looked all over the internet for answers, but the only thing I've found is that hyperlinks can be shown as broken because the URL's are too long or redirect somewhere. If that's true, can I edit FP so those hyperlinks don't show up?
From: Chris Leeds, MVP - FrontPage on 30 Jul 2008 19:39 I hate to ask incase you've already done it but have you tried: tools/ recalculate hyperlinks? also tools/ site settings/ delete temporary files. From: Shananza on 5 Aug 2008 13:03 You are a lifesaver! I went under web settings (we don't have site settings) and deleted the temporary files, as well as clicked the box "show hidden files". I don't know what did it, but it worked! My company has been trying to figure this out for weeks, THANK YOU!! From: Shananza on 5 Aug 2008 13:11 I spoke too soon...I thought it was fixed, because it showed less broken links, but when I looked closer, the links listed as broken were actually okay. Thanks anyway, you've given me some new ideas! Oh, and I've recalculated and verified the hyperlinks many times to no avail.
