From: Catella on 25 Jun 2005 12:41 I purchased a copy of Microsoft Office XP at a garage sale recently. When I got home I realized that the serial number was not on the package. I returned to the woman's house and she said that she didn't know what had happened to it. Is there any way that I can use this copy of Office?
From: P.Dorf on 25 Jun 2005 13:01 Nope. Only MS can supply replacement codes, but will require proof of purchase. From: JoAnn Paules [MSFT MVP] on 25 Jun 2005 15:40 You can call Microsoft and see if they can supply you with the missing information. Out of curiosity, is it a full retail version or does it say OEM? If it does, you've thrown your money away. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Catella" <Catella(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CEDB5DBE-D698-431A-8213-3C514847C5E8(a)microsoft.com... >I purchased a copy of Microsoft Office XP at a garage sale recently. From: Carey Frisch [MVP] on 25 Jun 2005 15:50 No, you need to return the CD for a refund. The sale was illegitimate since no license (Product Key) was provided by the seller. The CD is worthless without the Product Key. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows XP - Shell/User Microsoft Newsgroups Get Windows XP Service Pack 2 with Advanced Security Technologies: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/choose.mspx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Catella" wrote: | I purchased a copy of Microsoft Office XP at a garage sale recently.
